Step to the Line, the Virtual Reality film directed by Ricardo Laganaro, has been selected for the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival 2017 as part of the Tribeca Immersive (Storyscapes and Virtual Arcade) program, which will screen immersive narrative projects at the festival.

Step to the Line is the result of a partnership between Laganaro and Oculus VR, the virtual reality headset manufacturer acquired by Facebook, after the director’s participation in the VR For Good Bootcamp, in which 10 directors from around the world joined with interested NGOs to tell their stories in an immersive fashion. Mentored by Christie Marchese of Picture Motion, Laganaro recorded the work done by the NGO Defy Ventures in maximum security prisons in the United States, which promotes encounters between prisoners and entrepreneurs and offers entrepreneurial training.

This project received support from O2 Filmes.
